Charlotte Chuhlhourne is the 20th Arrancar and one of Baraggan Louisenbairn's six Fracción, an enormous muscular man with long wavy hair and glossy lips who fights while insisting on his own beauty. He is sent to destroy one of the four pillars holding the real Karakura Town in Soul Society and runs into Yumichika Ayasegawa, which is the funniest possible matchup and also the most revealing one.

The two of them spend the fight arguing about aesthetics with complete sincerity. Charlotte's release, Reina de Rosas, puts him in a rose-covered arena in which he declares himself the queen, and it is played entirely straight. Yumichika finds him vulgar, which for Yumichika is the substantive objection.

Charlotte is the reason the audience finds out what Yumichika's Zanpakutō actually is. Losing, and with nobody from the 11th Division close enough to hear, Yumichika releases Ruri'iro Kujaku and drains him dry. Dying, Charlotte asks whether that was a Bankai, and Yumichika tells him it is the sword's true name. Mayuri Kurotsuchi later resurrects him for the Corpse Unit, where he sees a wounded Yumichika and announces that he cannot remember the names of ugly people.
