Hiyori
Sarugaki

Hiyori Sarugaki was the lieutenant of the 12th Division under Kisuke Urahara, and she made his life difficult every day of it. She is short, permanently furious, wears a red tracksuit and flip flops, and greets people by kicking them in the face. Shinji Hirako has been on the receiving end of a sandal to the head for over a century and has never learned to stop provoking her.

Her real history is with the captain before Urahara. Kirio Hikifune raised her and then left for the Zero Division, and Hiyori spent years resenting the replacement on principle. That resentment is the closest thing the Visored have to a founding grievance, because Urahara was the one who eventually saved her life.

She was among the officers sent to investigate disappearances in the Rukongai and caught in Aizen's Hollowfication experiment. She took longer than any of the others to force her inner Hollow down, and the mask she wears afterwards is skeletal with a single horn. A hundred years in the Human World did nothing to soften her. When the Visored return, Hiyori goes straight at Aizen and is cut in half for it, survives because Hachigen Ushōda puts her back together, and is on the field again by the Wandenreich war.
