Tetsuzaemon
Iba

Tetsuzaemon Iba is the lieutenant of the 7th Division under Sajin Komamura, and later the captain of it. He wears sunglasses indoors, has a burning cat tattooed across his back, smokes, and carries himself like a man who joined the wrong organisation, which is close to true: his manner is pure street and the Gotei 13 is nothing but hierarchy.

He was in the 11th Division first, which explains it, and he moved to the 7th and stayed. His loyalty to Komamura is total and completely unsentimental. When Choe Neng Poww beats Ikkaku Madarame and Komamura steps in, Iba's job is to throw the rods that stop the fake Karakura Town from being swapped back, and he does it without needing the plan explained twice.

His mother is Chikane Iba, a former lieutenant herself, and the running joke is that both of them insist on manliness as a code while being visibly terrified of her. After Yhwach's defeat he takes the 7th Division captaincy, which is a promotion earned by being the officer who kept a division functional through two wars rather than by any single feat anyone can point to.
